Abstract
Die verkehrswirtschaftliche Optimierung aller Verkehrsträger verlangt insbesondere im Bereich der Verringerung von Energiebedarfen ganzheitliche und systemische Lö-sungen. Eine Schlüsselposition nehmen dabei die Fahrwiderstände bzw. die Massen-reduzierung ein. In diesem Beitrag wird für verschiedene Klassen von Schienenfahr-zeugen (Nah-, Regional-, und Hochgeschwindigkeitsverkehr) der Einfluss der Fahrzeugmasse auf den Energiebedarf der Zugfahrt beschrieben und Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt, wie Fahrzeuge hinsichtlich ihrer Masse optimiert werden können.
