Abstract

Biomass is a P-band Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite mission proposal to estimate the biomass on a global scale. In support of the studies connected to this mission a Biomass end-to-end simulator has been developed for ESA. The Algorithm Theoretical Baseline Documentation describes the algorithms that have been implemented in the Product Generation Module and in the Geometric Module of the Biomass end-to-end simulator. The first part of the document describes how the L1a and L1b products are generated, using a definition of the scene, the impulse response function, ionospheric disturbances and system disturbances. The second part describes the algorithms related to the geometric characterization of the SAR acquisition.
