Proceedings of the 6th SmartRaCon Scientific Seminar (SRC6SS)

Kurzfassung

Railway related research and innovation is carried out at European level within the framework of the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (EU-Rail JU). The work related to traffic management and digital enablers is done in Flagship Area (FA) 1, digital and automatic train operation in FA2, maintenance in FA3, environmental aspects in FA4, rail freight in FA5, secondary lines in FA6 and finally innovation in FA7. Seven academic institutions decided to continue the SmartRaCon seminar series after the end of Shift2Rail in 2023: They are CEIT from Spain, DLR from Germany, IBDIM from Poland, RISE from Sweden, SINTEF from Norway, Université Gustave Eiffel from France and DITS / University Rome from Italy. They are all active in different projects of Europe’s Rail. After the first seminar in 2019 in Villeneuve d'Ascq was hosted as a face-to-face event by Railenium, the second one in 2020 could be executed very successfully as a digital event by CEIT as well as the third in 2021 by DLR. In 2022, the fourth edition followed, as hybrid event in Donostia / San Sebastian hosted by CEIT. The fifth edition, which was the final one for the Shift2Rail JU, was jointly hosted by GMV and DLR as hybrid event in Berlin-Adlershof. The sixth edition is the first for the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking and has been extended to all the projects of the JU. It was hosted again by CEIT in Donostia / San Sebastian, Spain on October 23rd and 24th 2024. This report contains the proceedings of this conference. (Published in English)
