EDA Accommodation Validation 2024 - D1 - Demonstration Validation Plan

Abstract

This document is the Demonstration Plan (DEMOP), for the EDA Accommodation Validation 2024 project and consists of the core document of the DEMOP, the Safety Plan and the Human Performance Plan. The document gives an overview of the exercise planned in the project and all safety and human performance activities. Goal of the project is to perform live flights with a large RPAS, the German Heron TP, in a cross-border setting between Germany and the Netherlands, where the flight will take place as General Air Traffic in class A-C airspace under control of civil and military air traffic control. Flights above FL245 are planned under control of the Maastricht Upper Airspace Centre (MUAC). The flights will be performed in the context of Airspace Accommodation for which dedicated measures can be taken to allow the flight to take place in controlled airspace. The current status of the Airspace Accommodation in SESAR is TRL6/V3; aim of the EDA Accommodation Validation 2024 is to bring this to TRL7. The activities as described in this document form the basis for the Demonstration Report and an update of the EDA/EASA cross-border CONOPS.
