Abstract
Production of rotor blades for wind turbines is still a manual process in wide range. Many variations occur during manufacturing. To improve blade quality without rising costs in an intolerable way, the DLR institute for composite structures and adaptive systems combines tolerance management with online process assurance. Therefore nonlinear tolerance chains with analytical and numerical elements are built up based on statistical distributed data. On the other hand a sensor system for online measurements is developed. It includes several different systems like an optical measuring cell and ultrasonic sensors. Tolerance management and measurement system will give the opportunity to predict process induced deformations and optimize process parameters in the future
