Abstract

The correlation-based gamma-Re_thetat model [1] uses only local quantities, available in a finite volume to predict laminar-turbulent transition within an unstructured CFD code. The local formulation is based on an analysis of the two-dimensional laminar boundary layer, which results in a general link between local (given in every finite volume of an unstructured CFD solver) and non-local quantities (integral quantities, e.g. the incompressible momentum thickness).
