Abstract

This short communication presents a novel testing method for monotonic in-plane uniaxial compression of thin-sheet metals at room temperature. The novelty lies in the single-sided grooved thin-sheet specimen which is used to prevent the buckling. The new method was successfully applied to 1.8 mm thick magnesium alloy AZ31B sheet.
