Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is useful for the analysis of the Earth surface due to its ability to operate in all-weather conditions. Polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) can extract additional information of the target, which is related to its physical structure and properties. This work proposes a polarimetric change analysis technique which is able to detect not only the amount but also the type of change. This technique is employed for monitoring the evolution of agricultural fields with PolSAR time series acquired during the AgriSAR 2006 campaign. The obtained results are evaluated with the ground information and in-situ measurements for verification.
