Abstract

After a first critical analysis performed in 2013 on the first concept of the Ariane 6 PPH, a second iteration loop has been performed on the version of Ariane 6 PPH fixed in early 2014. The results of this Ariane 6 PPH architecture critical analysis are presented in this report. Compared to the configuration considered in 2013, the sizes of the stages have been increased to P145 and H32 for the P135 and the H30 respectively. This increase was indeed required to reach the target payload performance of 6.5 tons to GTO with sufficient margin. A preliminary model of the launcher with three P145 solid rocket motors (SRM) in the first stage, one identical P145 solid rocket motor in the second stage and a H32 cryogenic upper stage with separated tanks powered by Vinci was established. Subsequently, specific topics were analysed in more detail.
