Abstract

The trajectory matching problem refers to matching vehicle tracking data (trajectories) to the sequence of road segments taken by the vehicle driving through a road network. In order to test and compare algorithms which attempt to solve this problem, a ground truth is needed. We explain how SUMO can be used to create synthetic trajectories which are suitable to perform such evaluations.
