Abstract

The 2nd NPU-DLR Workshop on Aerodynamics, which was organized by DLR’s Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology, was held at the Steigenberger Conference Hotel in Braunschweig, Germany, from May 15-16, 2014. The workshop, which was a follow-up to the first workshop held at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Xi’an, China, in 2012, focused on reviewing the state of the art of the theory, algorithms and modeling and simulation methods for the aerodynamic design of transport aircraft, spacecraft, helicopters, wind turbines as well as industrial applications. The goal was to promote important topics for future research and development work and to strengthen the long-lasting collaboration between DLR and NPU. There were a total of 19 workshop presentations organized in five sessions: 9 presentations from NPU, 8 from DLR and 2 from TU Braunschweig. This report contains the slides of all 19 presentations. Some presentations contained herein were edited after the workshop.
