Abstract

Flow simulations of inlet stall in a flow-through nacelle using advanced Reynolds-stress and transition modelling are compared to a specific validation experiment. Static pressure measurements and oil flow pictures are used to characterize the footprint of the separated flow. Although the results obtained with the Low-Re εh-Reynolds-stress model predict stall onset by about Δα ≈ 1.5° prior to the experiments, the topology and development of the separation are captured well.
