Abstract

For many years the Institute of Structures and Design of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) has been working on the development of concepts and designs to improve the passive safety in helicopters. For that purpose, numerical simulation methods using finite element (FE) programs are applied. To validate the results, extensive material, component, and full-scale tests are performed.
