Abstract

MRI images are used in identifying human hand kinematics. I a processing step called "segmentation", the bone structures are highlighted. To save the time needed for manual segementation, an automatic segmentation method is developed. The resulting method employs a hybrid region/edge based level set method and is implemented in MATLAB. Initial test showed the effectiveness of the method.
