Abstract

In the EU-project JTI Cleansky an aircraft trajectory optimization tool is to be developed by a consortium of universities, companies and research institutions (GSAF). This optimization tool is called GATAC which stands for Green Aircraft Trajectories under ATM Constraints. Since GATAC is a newly developed tool it is reasonable to compare the results and functionality to existing solutions. Within DLR-RM the optimization tool MOPS (Multi Objective Parameter Synthesis) is available which uses the framework of MATLAB ® and provides runscript and GUI-based setup generation. The scope of this report is a comparison of both tools with respect to handling, setup generation capability and result quality in order to extract differences and possible improvements that can be made for future development.
