Abstract

The DLR-TAU code was used to investigate the control of dynamic stall on an OA209 airfoil using pulsed and constant-flow air jets. RANS and URANS computations at constant angle of attack above stall showed improved lift and drag with constant blowing, but different flow behaviour was observed using pulsed jets with 50% duty cycle. Control of dynamic stall was demonstrated by constant blowing on a pitching airfoil. Initial results for pulsed jets on a pitching airfoil are presented.
