Abstract

Precious metal incorporated perovskites (BaTixM(1-x)O3, M = Pd, Rh, Ru) are catalysts with better ageing resistance than the precious metals supported catalyst, specially at temperatures exceeding 900°C. The ageing resistance of the catalyst is enhanced due to the self-healing properties of the metal incorporated perovskite. This effect is produced under redox cycling conditions and has been only investigated for applications as Three Way Catalysts. Here Ba-based perovskites containing Rh were prepared via the sol-gel method. The microstructure and the catalytic performance on the steam reforming of methane of the Rh-incorporated perovskites are investigated.
