Kurzfassung

During the curving of rail vehicles vibrations are often noticeable inside the vehicles. These vibrations can be caused by rail corrugation or friction induced oscillation in the wheel/rail-contact. In principle friction induced oscillations can produce non uniform wear in longitudinal direction such as rail corrugation. This paper deals with the modeling and simulation of a vibration process with a typical frequency of 80 Hz, which was observed and measured before on the vehicles of the Stuttgarter Strassenbahnen AG while curving. For the model set up the commercial MBS-Software SIMPACK is used. The model contains the vehicle and the track. After the parameter identification the model shows the same behavior as the real system. The vibration is characterized by large amplitude of the normal force in the wheel/rail-contact. Furthermore, the model is used for a study of the sensitive parameter and to understand the oscillation mechanism. The results show the possibility of rail corrugation originated by these vibrations. At the moment an increase of rail corrugation in curves of the network in Stuttgart with di erent wavelengths on the inner and outer rail is discovered. The model can also explain the di erent wavelengths
