Abstract
This document formulates the basic requirements on manoeuvres for the SMOS space platform in order to perform adequate calibration sequences of the SMOS aperture synthesis radiometer system for the case of a G matrix image reconstruction. The proposed manoeuvres are derived from simplified astronomical considerations and the present experience in the choice and in the combination of suitable calibration scenes and sequences of those.
