Infusion Machines for the Quality Assured Liquid Resin Infusion (LRI) Series Production

Abstract

To meet the demands of a steadily growing composite market it is essential to exploit the full potential of both composite materials and manufacturing technologies. Therefore accuracy and reproducibility of the manufacturing process is absolutely crucial to sustain a successful production. For resin infusion technologies, this means that in addition to autoclave or oven parameters there are also infusion related parameters like resin flow or preform compaction that need to be monitored, controlled and logged. Within this paper the last generation of infusion equipment like resin infusion machines, monitoring equipment, and standardized tooling approaches is presented.
