Abstract
The research group "TrafficOnline" founded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has as a goal the development of a system which is able to derive traffic information from mobile radio units floating in road traffic. At the Institute of Transportation Systems, the developed GSM-based traffic monitoring system is validated. Validation is performed using an on-road test and a traffic simulation which deals with test cases which cannot be verified in the on-road test. For these reasons, the theory of test case development is considered and a test case diagram is exemplified. A traffic simulation was adjusted to modulate features from GSM-network.
