Abstract
Within the EMIR project, two sandwich panel concepts are investigated: VeSCo (Ventable shear core) and SoFi (Stringer outside Frame Inside). To that aim, a total of six 800 mm x 800 mm curved sandwich panels with various core types have been tested: This report collects all the results of a high velocity impact test campaign conducted on these six panels (VeSCo1, VeSCo2, VeSCo3, VeSCo4, SoFi1 and SoFi2) with the HVI test facilities available at the Institute of Structures and Design, DLR Stuttgart. Various impactor types have been used: ice cylinders and balls for hail impact, metallic cube, ball or beam for impact of metallic objects coming from the ground or engines, and finally rubber beams for tyre burst.
