Abstract

Within TIVA, the Institute of Structures and Design in Stuttgart is responsible for the evaluation of water loads. The programme WLE (Water Load Estimation) version 1.0 has been implemented in C++ as tool of accuracy level 1. This C++ version 1.0 includes also the calculation of the water reaction load factor compared to the Fortran 90 version 1.0. The computation of the pressures and water reaction load factors applying on a given aircraft fuselage are based on experience and sections 25.527, 25.533 and 25.535 of FAR25. One important point is that the suction pressures are not computed by both WLE tools versions.
