Abstract
This paper introdues the Modelica library Alternative Vehicles which has been developed by the DLR institutes of Vehicle Concepts and Robotics and Mechatronics to model and simulate alternative vehicle concepts. The objectives of the library are the model based conception and validation of vehicles with alternative propulsion. Beside the specific components of these vehicles several examples of typical configurations are included in the library. The possibility of automatic model inversion to control complex dynamic system ist demonstrated by means of a fuel cell system
