Abstract

Improvements of the unsteady full potential scheme and viscous- inviscid interaction method have been implemented for steady and unsteady transonic analysis of 2D and 3D flows. These algorithm improvements include implicit boundary conditions, implicit unsteady wake treatment, the coupling technique of the boundary-layer scheme with the inviscid code, and several modifications to accelerate convergence. Calculations are presented for several configurations including NLR7301 airfoil and Lann wing. The results show that the accuracy, efficiency, and stability of the DLR FP+VII code has been significantly improved.
