Abstract

During three hot firing tests of the EPS stage, the second upper stage of the Ariane 5 launcher, an external dynamic excitation was applied on the stage by an electrodynamic shaker in order to get measurable dynamic pressures in the hydraulic propulsion system. By means of this data, the dynamic model of the system currently used in the POGO predictions should be checked. The report describes the test hardware and test performance of the external excitation.
