Abstract

This paper is a descriptive review of the current state of CFD applications in the automotive industry. Aiming at an audience of practicing engineers and not CFD specialists, it attempts to generate understanding for the potential of this technique for the design process of automobiles. Salient aspects of the foundations of CFD, illustrative results and an evaluation of the current capabilities are addressed.
