Abstract

The flow solutions for testcases T6-97 that DLR contributes to the HSFF-2 workshop are calculated with the DLR Navier-Stokes code CEVCATS /1/. The DLR CEVCATS computer code solves the 3D unsteady Navier-Stokes equations in integral form on structured meshes. Spatial discretization is done by finite volumes in a cell-vertex formulation. Convective fluxes are discretized with a hybrid flux vector splitting scheme. This hybrid scheme switched between the VanLeer flux vector splitting and the AUSM formulation. In regions of strong flow expansions or strong shock waves the van Leer scheme is used, while in regions with smooth flow variations, i.e. boundary layers the less dissipative AUSM scheme according to Liou and Steffen is applied. Viscous fluxes are discretized by central differences. The overall accuracy of the solution procedure is second-order in space. Time integration is done explicitly with a five stage Runge-Kutta scheme. Several acceleration techniques.
