Abstract

To improve the aerodynamic model of PrADO-sup, the Preliminary Design and Optimization Code for supersonic transport aircraft, the Panelcode HISSS (Higher Order Subsonic and Supersonic Singularity Method) is now used to predict the aerodynamic characteristics of supersonic transport configurations in subsonic and supersonic flow. To generate surface grids of wing fuselage combinations with/without flaps a modified version of the interactive grid generator Mega-GEO is integrated into the preliminary design code PrADO-sup. All input files for the panel code are automatically written and handled by the PrADO databank management. HISSS is activated by a simple System Call, providing datafiles, which can be read by PrADO.
