Abstract

The ALVAST half-model was investigated with a high-lift wing without engine simulator in the DNW/NWB Low-Speed Wind Tunnel Braunschweig in June 1994 at the Mach numbers 0.12, 0.18 and 0.22 in order to check this configuration for the first time in a wind tunnel and to investigate the half-model test technique in this wind tunnel. The model geometry and the model mounting in the test section are described. Results of the force and pressure distribution measurements are analyzed and the improvements of the high-lift capabilities achieved by a number of modifications are discussed and presented.
