Abstract

This report contains the results of pressure and friction drag calculations of the A320 wing and its TEO modification. It could be shown that the modified TEO wing provides some advantages compared with the original A320 wing. The wave drag has been reduced so that a total drag reduction of up to 3.7% could be achieved but on the other hand the negative pitching moment has increased and produces some trim drag. Summarizing the TEO modification of the A320 wing it could be stated that like in 2D TEO seems to be a means to improve the wing performance especially when the lift coefficient shall be increased.
