Abstract

The ALVAST wind tunnel model with high-lift wings is used in the "DUPRIN II" Program which is supported by the European Union. the strength of the wing is proved experimentally because of the complexity of structure and material which is carbonfiber-reinforced polymers. The model has a total span of 3.43m and can be equipped with engine simulators. The high-lift wing withstands a load of more than 1.5 times of that of the nominal aerodynamic load. Since the strain gauges remain on the wing, the strain can also be measured during wind tunnel testing and can be compared with this static load test.
