Abstract

The control engineering design environment AnDeCs integrates: 1) a design engine to run goal-driven parametric iterations with an automatic databased recording of all necessary data for completely backtracing an iterative design history, as well as for branching and restarting a design process in a new direction; 2) a man/machine interaction design machinery with various kinds of information displays and action handlers for on-line human feedback by interactive steering and by design directing via iterative performance specification. 3) a multidisciplinary simulation machine with a neutral dynamics model bus to import models developed and validated in external domain-specific modelling environments. The corresponding modular software system ANDECS (R) is based on the partable-Fortran engineering operating system RSYST which supports both a high-level and low-level data abstraction and tool abstraction.
