Abstract
It is proposed that the EXPRESS data definition language, which is part of the ISO STEP/PDES standard for engineering data exchange, should be used in the formulation of standard entity types to be usedin computer aided control engineering. Examples of how EXPRESS can be used to define entity types suitable for representing linear and nonlinear models are given.
