Abstract

A powerful software package for analysis and design of multibody systems is developed, based on RSYST, a software environment for scientific and engineering applications. Multibody systems are described and stored on a RSYST database according to the object- oriented data model. Special methods to utilize the data objects of a multibody system are provided by RUS and DLR as RSYST modules and programming interfaces. One important advantage of the open and modular software architecture is the ability to integrate multibody systems and other application areas. This is demonstrated by the utilization of ANDECS optimization methods for the design of multibody systems.
