Abstract
The Biomass satellite was launched by ESA on April 29, 2025 and has been successfully commissioned within the nominal period of 6 months. The calibration activities were based on the recordings and responses of the so-called Biomass Calibration Transponder (BCT) and on the use of proper targets of opportunity (ToO) for the different calibration parameters. This paper presents the calibration results for validating the antenna pattern, the spatial resolution, geolocation accuracy, noise level and polarimetric calibration parameters.
