Abstract

A systematic and comprehensive understanding of TRWP-emissions requires detailed consideration of the mechanisms underlying particle generation. In this study, a Design of Experiment approach is applied to systematically investigate the influence from temperature, tire pressure and toe angle, on the generation of airborne TRWP. By varying the parameters in a controlled environment on the chassis dyno with the DLR TRWP measurement method, the study isolates and quantifies their individual as well as interactive effects on emissions. The experimental design ensures statistical robustness while having external factors controlled. First results demonstrate clear dependencies betweeRepeatabln the evaluated generation mechanisms and TRWP formation.
