Kurzfassung
The quality of BIOMASS fully polarimetric P-band SAR products can be limited by signal propagation through the ionosphere and calibration residuals. In this paper, based on real BIOMASS data, we present different approaches to exploit sublooks in the Doppler spectrum and the associated squint angle diversity within the antenna beam. We present preliminary results on an autofocus implementation for data correction and on a method for estimating ionospheric irregularity heights at high latitudes. Finally, we also discuss the possibility of correcting system and mispointing errors by examining the cross-polar phases across azimuth sublooks.
