Abstract

The TerraSAR-X Imaging Simulation Tool has been developed in the frame of this Master Thesis. The objective of the Imaging Simulator is the verification of the radar parameter settings commanded to the TerraSAR-X radar satellite. The radar parameters ready for commanding and the initial request for a radar image acquisition are analyzed by performing imaging simulations. The simulation consists of the simulation of the illuminated scene location considering the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and possible errors in orbit, timing, DEM and pointing, simulation of the data acquisition timing events, and simulation of the polarization scheme.
