On the Challenges of Coherent Ambiguity Removal in the Harmony Mission

Richter, Dominik and Rodriguez-Cassola, Marc and Prats, Pau and Lopez-Dekker, Paco (2025) On the Challenges of Coherent Ambiguity Removal in the Harmony Mission. ESA Living Planet Symposium 2025, 2025-06-23 - 2025-06-27, Vienna, Austria.

Abstract

This contribution presents and concludes on challenges for the operational implementation of a coherent azimuth ambiguity suppression algorithm for the Harmony mission. This comprises a conceptual rework and generalization of the algorithms to arbitrary bistatic interferometric mission geometries including azimuthal variance and first experimental realizations and verification with real operational InSAR data acquired by the TerraSAR/TanDEM-X satellites. Challenges in terms of required parameter knowledge and sensitivity and error analysis are identified and quantified to shape the Harmony mission design and algorithm development process.
