Kurzfassung
The evolution of next-generation fighter jet cockpits necessitates the development of sophisticated Adaptive Human-Machine Interfaces (AHMIs) to enhance pilot performance and safety. This literature review synthesizes current research on AHMIs, focusing on their usability, performance, efficiency, adaptation, customization, technological integration, and safety. Employing the PRISMA methodology, we identified significant advancements and research gaps by analyzing studies from databases such as Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. Findings highlight the transformative potential of AHMIs in reducing cognitive load and improving situational awareness through real-time, context-sensitive information modulation. However, challenges remain, including the need for holistic development methodologies, advanced algorithms for dynamic context handling, and empirical validation in real-world scenarios. Addressing these gaps is crucial for the development of robust, efficient, and reliable AHMIs. The insights gained not only benefit military aviation but also have broader applications in commercial aviation, automotive industries, healthcare, and consumer electronics, contributing to safer and more efficient human-machine interactions.
