Abstract
the paper provides an overview of the System Engineering and Calibrations Segment (SEC) which is one major part of the TerraSAR-X Ground Segment. SEC is in charge of SAR System Engineering and is building up and operating the Instrument Operations and Calibration Segment (IOCS). The main subsystems of IOCS and the major tasks of the system engineering are described to provide an overview about SEC.
