Abstract

This project thesis deals with the development of off-nominal scenarios and suitable procedures. This is necessary in order to develop specific flight rules that enable the airspace integration of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). In this thesis, a specific case for the identified off-nominal procedures is applied, namely a fixed-wing cargo UAS in U-space airspaces at non-towered airports. The main question is: How does a UAS react in an off-nominal scenario? There are already several documents for the operation of UAS, but none of them comprehensively address off-nominal scenarios and provide a complete list here. In order to develop U-space Flight Rules (UFR), off-nominal operations must also be considered. For this purpose, suitable off-nominal scenarios and procedures must first be idetified. The identified situations are listed in a structured list and corresponding scenarios are identified. The scenarios are assigned to the procedures for the respective use case. However, it has been shown that a much larger number of off-nominal procedures are required than in manned aviation today, as every UAS must be aware of all off-nominal scenarios in order to be able to react accordingly.
