Kurzfassung
The MaTiC-M (Methods and Technologies for an intelligent Circularity of Materials) project develops a design-for-circularity methodology for sustainable product design using AI and digitization tools to reduce material losses during disposal through more resource-efficient product development, with pilot applications in the aerospace, energy, and transportation sectors. An important basis for more sustainable product designs is the improvement of the information flow along the life cycle of a product, which is to be achieved with the help of a knowledge graph. The requirements for the MaTiC-M knowledge graph are recorded using so-called "competency questions". A competency question is a question that must be answered with the help of the knowledge contained in the knowledge graph. To record the requirements for the knowledge graph, the domain experts of the participating institutes each provided a list of competency questions. The collected competency questions were then compiled into a joint, consolidated competency question catalogue. In close dialogue with the respective domain experts of the participating institutes, questions of understanding regarding the Competency Questions and the terminology used were clarified, the Competency Questions were sorted by subject area and redundancies between the Competency Questions collected were identified and resolved. Finally, the domain experts of the individual institutes verified the completeness and correctness of the Competency Question Catalogue with regard to their own requirements. The competency questions were first recorded and consolidated in German. The translation into English was carried out with the help of the machine translation service DeepL Pro and subsequent manual checking and, if necessary, correction of each competency question. To protect intellectual property rights of project partners, some of the resulting 97 question were generalised or omitted in this dataset. The published dataset contains 65 competency questions.
