Abstract

The source localization method SODIX reconstructs a distribution of directive point sources from the data in the cross-spectral matrix of a microphone array. The initial version SODIX has been presented by Michel and Funke in 2008 and has since been improved by Oertwig. SODIX has been extensively used and verified using synthetic and experimental data. The method is being used in industry and other researchers have started to develop their own flavours of SODIX. While the original SODIX was restricted to the analysis of broadband sources, it can now analyse tones. SODIX has been verified using synthetic data and has been successfully applied to data measured in free-field and indoor engine testbeds.
