Abstract

The TRANSITION (Turbine Analysis, Test and Rig Operation) project is part of the EU-funded Clean Sky 2 project and deals with topics such as improving the analysis, preparation and testing capabilities of the 'NG-Turb' turbine test rig with the existing two-stage HPT High TRL (5-6) rig hardware (InterTurb). Furthermore, a combustor simulator for a combustor-turbine interaction (CTI) study was installed and tested for the first time and a virtual representation of the whole test facility NG-Turb as a thermodynamic model was implemented in the Gas Turbine Laboratory (GTlab) which enables for example better determination of operation parameters leading to requested turbine inlet condition.
