The French ONERA/DDSS and the German DLR Institute of Aeroelasticity have been working together for the WIONA project since April 2000. Since this year, both organizations are working on the succession project WIONA II. The main goal of this project is to study the aeroelastic flutter stability in an extended transsonic speed range. Especially, non-linear transsonic aeroelastic problems due to nacelle oscillations are taken into account. A wing model with an oscillating nacelle has been designed and was tested in wind-tunnel in October 2005 in the DNW-TWG. In order to get an impression of the flutter properties, two modal suryey tests were performed by the DLR Institute of Aeroelasticity in October 2005. The first test was performed in a test hall whereas the second test was performed on the WIONA model installed in the German-Dutch Transsonic Wind Tunnel Göttingen (DNW-TWG).
