Abstract

Modern day software business relies very much on large cloud providers. They offer a wide range of functionalities and a complex ecosystem. However, using one of these cloud providers can easily create a lock-in effect, because adapting software for another cloud solution or an on-premises implementation costs a lot of time and money. The global cloud market is dominated by few big companies. Due to their position, these companies have a lot of influence. Gaia-X was first initiated in 2019 with the goal to protect European industrial data, when this data is not hosted on European data infrastructure. We used the Eclipse Dataspace Connector to transfer data for our autonomous driving vehicle (powered by ADORe framework) in a way that is Gaia-X conform.
