Abstract

The implementation of the Baldwin-Lomax turbulence model in FLOWer is reviewed in view of clarification of a weird distribution of the eddy viscosity while computing 2D-profiles at an angle of attack. First, the model formulae are reminded; second, an analysis of the problem is performed, where the misalignment of the grid cut with the aerodynamic wake proves to be the problem origin. The mean flow remains almost unaffected.
