• Study is on-going “exploration” • use of data from LES and experiments to better understand heat transfer mechanisms beyond 1st order statistics • first-time demonstration of unsteady temperature sensitive paint (iTSP) in cooling configuration, resolution better than 0.1K • main findings so far: • free-jet dynamics have little influence on heat transfer dynamics • no interaction between jets can be observed • impingement flow is entirely stochastic (no distinct periodic signature)
